Consumers more comfortable & satisfied with search

As we get more comfortable and gain confidence searching online, we enter longer search strings.  More words in that little window.  Trendspotting put together these observations to show how our search behavior has changed over time:

Searching for 1 or 2 words has dropped while multiple word searches are increasing.   The research also shows that as more words are used, user satisfaction with the search experience increases.

If you’re a local retailer thinking nobody will ever type in a search string like ” brand name – product – city – store name”…think again.  Search engines are smarter.  Browsers are better.  We’re gaining confidence and searching more.
